A LOCAL chef has launched a campaign to deter dog fouling on the Teignmouth back beach and other problem spots.

Josh Martin, 35, said the amount of dog mess was 'appalling', and it was deterring holidaymakers.

Now he has received support from local councillors to install free bags in dispensers from the Fish Quay to The Point, so there is no excuse for owners not picking up after their pets.

If it is a success, he reckons it could be rolled out across other parts of the town, which are also hotspots of fouling.
