IN honour of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the groundbreaking engineer born 200 years ago, Dawlish Museum has dedicated a display to him. Called Brunel – and the Impact of the Railway on Dawlish, it charts his achievements and how it affected the area. On the top floor of the museum there is a display of wedding dresses, with Dawlish connections, from 1846 – 2000. New for this year is a room dedicated to Dawlish Carnival. The museum opens its doors to the public on May 1.
