CARRY on getting married at Bitton House.

That's the message from a Teignmouth councillor after hearing that the cost of weddings at the historic venue in the park had soared.

Town clerk Dave Tickell warned that the town council would be lucky to break even, and might even face a small loss, over the dozen or so marriages a year.

But Cllr Sylvia Russell, chairman of the finance and general purposes committee, told members on Tuesday it would 'be a shame' if residents could not tie the knot at such a lovely setting.
