THE Rotary Club of Ashburton and Buckfastleigh has managed to secure a private charity screening of the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. The film will be shown at the Vue Cinema in Plymouth on Sunday, November 2, at 10.30am and takes place just five days after the world premiere.

The film's producers, EON Productions, and Vue Cinemas have generously given the film and the cinema screen free of charge so that every penny from the ticket price will go to the two charities: SSAFA Forces Help and Shelterbox.

Quantum of Solace, starring Daniel Craig, opens to the general public at the Vue Cinema on Friday, October 31, and this charity screening takes place during its first weekend.

The 22nd James Bond adventure, in the longest running franchise in film history, is for the first time a sequel in the series, with the storyline picking up just minutes after the end of Casino Royale.

Tickets cost £7.50 each and can be obtained by ringing Ken Green on 01626 830006 or email kengreen@templerhouse .orangehome.co.uk.

Rotary club president Ken Green said: 'We are indebted to the film's producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, for their generosity and their support of these two charities.

'This is the second time they have made a James Bond film available to our club in this way, following a charity screening we organised of Casino Royale when it opened a couple of years ago.

'We hope that this charity event will prove equally successful.'
