UP to 2,500 homes were affected by a power failure in Bovey Tracey on Sunday (Jan 14) night.
The blackout was caused by a split high voltage cable and some properties reported sporadic losses of power.
Western Power were alerted to the problem just before 8pm.
Many of the affected homes were back on supply within a few minutes.
All properties were reconnected by 9pm.
Western Power apologised to customers for the inconvenience.
