AFTER 15 years of serving the residents of Buckland, Newton Abbot, Sue and Nic Ray have called it a day and will be leaving the estate’s post office.

The couple, who have been married for 24 years, opened the store as a sweetshop and watched it evolve as they gained an alcohol licence and turned it into a mini-mart before transforming into what it is today.

The mayor of Newton Abbot, Cllr Mike Ryan, and his wife Lin, called in on Monday to wish the pair luck on their upcoming ventures and present them with a certificate of appreciation.
