A BUMPER weekend of budget-friendly family fun is heading its way to Newton Abbot when Party in the Park descends on Courtenay Park.

The two day event on July 4 and 5 is aimed at providing a host of entertainment for families.

The first day’s line-up includes The Rock Choir, a dog show, Tano Taiko Drummers plus children’s attractions such as a bouncy castle, inflatable ball pool, face painting and art workshop.

Also taking place between 11am to 4pm will be a Youth Zone including fun run, human fruit machine, bar, trade and charity stalls plus street food and ice cream van.

Sunday’s must sees, also from 11am to 4pm, include live music from three different acts, Mini Big Top Circus Skills, games with Newton Abbot Youth Centre, balloon modelling, face painting and food from the Toasty Badger stall.

Once again, Party in the Park is a joint venture between Newton Abbot Rotary which takes care of the Saturday and Newton Abbot Town Council whose team organises Sunday’s activities.

Events Co-ordinator Natalie Hicks said: ‘Our relationship with Newton Abbot Rotary has gone from strength to strength in recent years and we’re very happy to be working with such a great organisation.

‘Between us we’re offering a wonderful weekend of wonderful value family fun with many of the events and attractions there to be enjoyed without having to spend a single penny.

‘As always, we’ll have everything crossed for good weather and I’d urge everyone to spread the word and see lovely Courtenay Park absolutely filled with smiling faces on both the Saturday and Sunday.

‘So put the date in the diary, it’s Newton Abbot’s Party in the Park on July 4 and 5, we’ll see you there.’
