Dawlish ice-cream shop, The Local Scoop, has had a bumper start to Devon County Show thanks to the blazing sunshine.
There was a queue of customers for the award-winning ice-cream for most of the first day of the Show.
‘We’ve not sold out, but we might have to replenish stock for Saturday,’ said shop manager Lauren Kalynuk. ‘It’s been a lovely jump start to the summer.’
The Local Scoop has 17 flavours of its Dawlish-made gelato available at the show, including vegan and gluten-free options.
‘There hasn’t been one stand-out favourite flavour,’ Lauren noted. ‘All the tubs seem to be emptying at around the same rate. The Devon Cream Tea, which won a Gold at last year’s show, has been quite popular and the farmers love the rum and raisin,’ she added.
