BUNTING like you've never seen will festoon the Riverside Mill, Bovey Tracey, this summer as the Devon Guild of Craftsman celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Knitted bunting, printed bunting, bunting decorated with buttons and bunting made from crisp packets is currently being created in a community project called Fabulous Bunting.
Lead artist Bridget Arnold is encouraging people of all ages and walks of life to get involved.
'It's about celebrating Devon Guild being in Bovey Tracey for 25 years. The aim is to put the bunting that the community has made all around the building for the summer exhibition,' she said.
'I've been into the Youth Cafe, the Montessori nursery school and Bovey Tracey Activities Trust.
'A lot of kids haven't ever sewn before so it's about getting them to thread needles. They can also do printing which is a bit more colourful.'
She added: 'The Youth Cafe have been making bunting out of recycled crisp packets. It looks fabulous.
'You get two bits of bunting from one crisp packet and then you can sew things on to it and join them together.'
She hopes the project will encourage more residents to look inside rather than just walk past.
The main focus of the celebrations will be the summer exhibition with the title The Silver Thread.
But between now and then there are workshops in printmaking and bunting making. Details available at http://www.crafts.org.uk">www.crafts.org.uk.
