Women entrepreneurs picked up tips on tax and insurance last week at a Devon Women in Business money saving workshop.

Hosted by Howden Insurance in Newton Abbot, businesswomen heard three speakers share tips on saving money in tax and insurance.

Emma Woodward of Dawes Accountants gave delegates at the networking event 12 tax saving tips including information about what expenses you can claim.

The businesswomen also picked up insurance tips including things to look out for in fine print from Howden Insurance’s Amanda Vallance. Commercial insurance was covered by another talk by Christine Scoines from the Howden Exeter branch.

‘It was fantastic to pass on our knowledge of taxation and insurances to local businesswomen, in an open forum format, where questions were welcomed by the speakers,’ said Emma Woodward.

Devon Women In Business is run by Dream Job Coach Louise Jenner and Maureen Townsend from Astrality Business Service. It aims to empower women entrepreneurs through networking and events.
