Panto season is with us again and Chudleigh Amateur Dramatic Society (CADS) is proud to be presenting its most ambitious production to date.
CADS is a young group! Formed in 2013, the society now boasts 80 members, but new talents and skills are always welcome. There are any number of other activities and a great range of social events to get involved with, including workshop groups, summer and Christmas parties, and a real sense of friendliness and community spirit.
This year’s offering is Cinderella. It is directed by two actors who have appeared in past pantos – Laura Scales and Millie Webster, who have a wealth of experience between them.
Laura’s first stage appearance at the age of seven was with one of the most successful society’s in the South East, and Millie was a Dawlish ‘Bluebird’ from the tender age of three.
The cast features some new talent as well as some of the stalwarts of the group.
‘We have progressed since our first production, The Merry Men of Chudleigh, showcasing Jack and the Beanstalk, and A Sleeping Beauty as well as shorter productions in Chudleigh to coincide with local and national events, like the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations and the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo,’ said CADS spokesman Migs Atkinson.
Cinderella can be seen tomorrow (Friday), Saturday and Sunday, January 26, 27 and 28 at the Community Hall, Lawn Drive, Chudleigh.
Performances are at 7.30pm, Friday and Saturday, with 2.30pm matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
