Cllr Paul Burgess, of Haldon Avenue, Teignmouth, Teignmouth town councillor for East Ward, writes:With reference to Mr Hart's letter about the dog mess and his suggestion that a campaign be launched, can I refer him to the Teignmouth Town Council Dog Fouling Campaign launched in September 2011?Dog poo is an issue in Teignmouth and this has been raised by lots of residents. As a result of listening to the concerns of residents Teignmouth Town Council in September 2011 launched its dog fouling campaign. This campaign was publicised in the town and in the Teignmouth Post and has helped reduce the problem of dog mess in Teignmouth.It is based upon the very successful Keep Britain Tidy Campaign and has the full support of the dog warden, who does need acknowledgement for his hard work in helping with this issue. Posters using the dog poo fairy have been displayed around the town and in known troublespots. The posters contain details of how residents can report offenders to Teignbridge Council and PCSOs who will take appropriate action to help combat this problem.
