A CARE home group which includes Sefton hall in Dawlish has been named 'Care Group of the Year' at a national awards ceremony.
Southern Healthcare won the prestigious award for Care Group of the Year at a glittering award ceremony in Leicester.
Team members from Southern Healthcare’s care homes in Exeter, Plymouth, Seaton, and Dawlish attended the annual Caring UK Awards ceremony at the Athena.
The Caring UK Awards celebrate and recognise achievements in the care sector from across the UK. The ceremony is an annual highlight for the care industry with short-listed care providers and individuals keen to take home a prestigious award.
Managing director, Geoffrey Cox, accepted the award with his wife and business partner, Margot Whittaker.
He said: ‘We are tremendously proud of all our teams, whose dedication to caring for the people living in their homes is truly admirable.
‘We know their daily kindness and commitment to residents and to each other makes our homes vibrant, spontaneous and loving places to live, work and visit.’
Southern Healthcare was also shortlisted for Caring UK’S Best Initiative in Care for its Dawlish training centre, whilst the group’s Dawlish care home, Sefton Hall, was shortlisted for Regional Care Home of the Year South, and Dementia Care Team of the Year.
Sefton Hall was also shortlisted for Care Home of the Year by South West Care Awards and Best Care Home 2025 by the National Care Awards.
In addition, Southern Healthcare was shortlisted by the Neurological and Complex Care Awards 2025 for Outstanding Complex Care Provider, and Exceptional Training and Development in this field.
