The 2012 Ashburton carnival week drew to a close on Saturday night with 'an amazing atmosphere' that even one of the worst summers on record failed to dent.
The Met Office may have issued its first Red weather warning for the area just hours before, but Balland Lane was crowded with floats as the big moment drew near and the crowds came out in force to watch.
'My daughter Sian, who's 19 and was on the Brownies' float, thought the atmosphere was amazing,' said minutes secretary Kath Pugh.
