THE 1st Teignmouth Guides received a kind donation of £200 from Past Master of Newton Lodge 6129 Tony Vile.

Face-to-face Guide meetings restarted in 2020 with just four members, there’s now a thriving unit of 17.

On March 1, 2024 the unit will be 114 years old!

We meet every Tuesday during term time, and occasionally during the holiday breaks for trips away.

The range of activities the Guides do is quite impressive: cooking (very popular), camping, 9-mile hikes, first aid, paddling boarding, barbecues and coming up… a Night with the Tigers at Dartmoor Zoo.

We laugh all the way and encourage each other to keep on going.

Rosie Gitsham, Leader of the 1st Teignmouth Guides, said: 'We thank the Freemasons so much for their valuable funding, it’ll really help cover costs for things the Guides like doing.'

Tony Vile said: ‘All the activities the Guides do cost money that has to be raised, and we hope that the £200 donated will help in giving the Guides some great life experiences and adventures.’
