Fears that up to 60 jobs could be cut from county council's children's services have been realised.

On Wednesday, the authority's cabinet approved plans to reduce the department's budget by £3.1 million in the current financial year, having been told by government it had to cut costs in certain areas.

Redundancy notices will now be issued.
