POLICE in Newton Abbot are continuing to work with a woman whose report of a suspect stalker in the Ashburton Road area on Christmas eve triggered a manhunt.

The force helicopter, a dog handler and six patrol units were called to the scene at 1pm but the search for a man described as wearing a hooded top and jeans revealed nothing.

Three other reports in November and December from the same 21-year-old also resulted in similar responses from officers but on no occasion was a suspect traced.
