TEIGNMOUTH'S seafront and Den area is rightly known as the jewel in the crown of the resort.

It is the focal point for all sorts of activities, from a gentle stroll along the prom, a flat section of the mainly hilly long distance coastal path, skateboarding, fun golf, a walk on the pier, swimming and mucking about on the beach, and fun for children in the play park.

It also the venue for many special events, and last weekend highlighted just how diverse an area it is.

The circus was in town with a big top on the green for the first time in many years, and attracted large crowds.
