FOUR voluntary lifesavers with others worked for 20 minutes to save a man who collapsed from a heart attack on Teignmouth seafront.

They made exhaustive efforts to revive the 45-year-old local man while his distressed wife was comforted at the scene.

It is believed the couple were on their way to church when the man collapsed to the ground.

Natalie Coen, Kim Webber-Marks, Dom Round and Kev Heath – of the Teignmouth Surf Lifesaving Club – had just completed their first training session of the year when they put their skills to the best possible use.

They gave the casualty extended CPR treatment before paramedics took over opposite the Lido just before midday on New Year's Day.
