The Conservatives have lost a seat in Dawlish. Independent Michael Petherick has been elected with 1,129 votes, taking the place previously held by Mary Mugford who stood down for health reasons.

Conservative Graham Price was elected with 1,197 votes and his colleague Ted Hockin with 1,095. Cllr Hockin only narrowly fought off independent Mary Lowther who took just 30 votes fewer.

None of the three Liberal Democrats scored more than 600 votes. The turnout was 44 per cent.
