TEN-year olds Marisa Chivers and Jenny Shilcock, from Liverton, put their love of baking to good effect by making all their favourite things to help children in Romania and Africa. They were helped by Daniela Chivers, right. Their efforts raised £212. Both Marisa and Jenny are members of the Rora Christian Fellowship Church, Liverton, which has been funding projects in Romania for the past 15 years. But after seeing a film about child poverty in Africa, the best friends decided they wanted to help that country too. 'We saw how poor they were and decided that we would give half the money to Africa and half to Romania,' said Marisa. She is about to make her second trip to Romania with her family. Father, Stephen Chivers, of Barn Park, said he and his wife had been visiting Romania since before Marisa was born and they would be looking at the church's latest work there.
