BRIGHT sparks at Coombeshead Academy, Newton Abbot, have booked themselves into the regional final of a Coca-Cola enterprise competition.

The Year 10 group have qualified to compete for honours in the South West Real Business Challenge Final at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol, on February 4.

They are hoping their project – to design an ethically responsible juice drink for Coca-Cola – will slip down sweetly with the judges.

Gina Solimenco, education programme manager for Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd, congratulated the team on winning through – Ethan Pearce, George Thomas, James Burgess, Ellen Carthew, Charlie Pearson, Robert Moore and Samuel Gardner.

‘Coombeshead students had some strong competition and deserve a huge amount of credit for qualifying. Well done to them,’ she said.
