TEIGNBRIDGE District Council (TDC) raised no objection to a proposed development of close to 30 homes on the edge of Buckfastleigh.
The authority had been consulted on Buckfast Estates Ltd’s application, 0615/18, for 28 new homes, of which six will be flats, and the remainder being a mixture of terraced, semidetached, and detached houses, on land west of Barn Park.
TDC raised no objection, however it did make the point that the application site is within the Buckfastleigh Sustenance Zone of the South Hams SAC.
According to TDC, the proposal may ‘adversely impact greater horseshoe bats associated with the SAC by loss of foraging habitats, severance or illumination of flyways’.
As such, it recommended Dartmoor National Park Authority undertake a Habitats Regulations Assessment.
