THE FIRST Dawlish Beer Festival proved a huge hit with hundreds of people packing into the Strand Centre to sample the choice of beers and ciders.

The event was hosted by Mayor of Dawlish Cllr Anthony James to raise money for his charities.

Organisers ensure there was a hand-picked selection of craft beers and ciders, many local including from Dartmoor and Salcombe.

The entry fee included tokens for drinks, a commemorative glass and tasting notes for each tipple.

The event was serenaded by local musicians including pianist Stephen Nash, Dawlish Rockwaves choir, Monday’s Chyld and the Wrecked Again Shanty singers.

Cllr James said: ‘A very big thank you to all who made the Beer and Cider Festival possible and a huge success.

‘A massive thank you to the town for coming and supporting us.’
