THE Dawlish Branch of the Royal British Legion will be taking part in the national commemoration of VJ Day on Friday to mark the end of the Second World War in the Far East.
A ceremony will take place on the Lawn involving RBL members, veterans and the public who will gather on the Lawn and by the flagpole at 11.35am.
This will be followed by an address by the Mayor of Dawlish Cllr Anthony James.
The Union Flag will be raised to the Britannic Salute by Dawlish RBL chaplain Revd Linda Cronin.
The Exhortation will be followed by the Last Post and two minutes silence at noon.
The ceremony will continue with Reveille, Kohima and prayers and conclude with the National Anthem.
The Dawlish Celebrates Carnival committee is providing all veterans taking part a cream tea.
