CARE home owner Sam Cook is dismayed at proposals to site a mini freight transfer station on land at Kingsteignton.

Plans for the depot, as well as a park and ride site and business start-up units, have been included in the draft core strategy for Teignbridge to guide development in the next 20 years.

But Mr Cook, who runs the Coombes Wood House residential home, Coombesend Road East, Kingsteignton, says the proposal will lead to noise and light pollution for neighbours.

And he wonders how efficient such a transport depot would be.

He said: 'This has shown a complete disregard for the environmental impact of such a site.

'Once greenfield sites have been lost, they are lost forever.
