POLICE have condemned the ‘despicable’ theft of a quad bike after a break-in at the Teignmouth RNLI outbuilding.

Teignmouth and Dawlish Police are investigating the theft of this important part of the RNLI’s lifesaving equipment and have appealed for information on the theft overnight on Wednesday.

On their Facebook page the local police report: ‘The RLNI had an outbuilding broken into overnight, in Teignmouth, and a quad bike stolen.

‘It is a Red Honda TRX 500 FM registration WA18CHL.

‘Any sightings please call 999 and quote reference 50230219029

‘Any theft is an appalling offence, but to steal some lifesaving equipment, is particularly despicable.’

People have been quick to condemn the raid, with one saying: ‘Well, people can’t stoop much lower than that.’
