EXAM result envelopes were eagerly opened at South Devon University Technical College in Newton Abbot this morning as students found out how months of hard work had paid off.

Aimee Tapp happy with her results gained in Health and Social Care and Food and Nutrition. The Ipplepen student will be taking a gap year -  a mix of work and holiday - before looking for an apprenticeship in the healthcare industry.

Meanwhile fellow student James Roberts was ecstatic with his triple distinction in Triple Engineering BTEC. 

The Kingsteignton student will be returning to the college at the start of the autumn term. 'I'll be back here at SDUTC in September,' he explained. 'But this time I'll be wearing a staff lanyard and i.d. badge as I'll be working here as a teaching assistant specialising in engineering.'
