A sporty member of staff at Newton Abbot College raised more than £200 for charity.
Joni Saunders put on her trainers and ran an impressive 10k in aid of the college’s chosen charity, Torbay Special Care and Baby Unit.
Taking part in the Fast Friday 10k run, Joni started at Exwick and dashed around the quay area twice.
The special care and baby unit is a charity that she holds close to her heart. Joni’s two children needed special care in the unit after their births.
The college’s SEND team coordinator said: ‘I found the race really tough and I was so pleased to cross the finish line.
‘Not only does participation in the events raise much needed funds for the charity, but it also shows our students that they can do anything they want if they put their minds to it.
‘I have been thrilled with the all the support students have given me in both my tutor groups and the wider student community.
‘It serves to show our young people how important charitable giving us and that their actions can make a real and lasting difference in the community.’
