NEWTON Abbot was the the go-to place for free family fun on Easter Saturday

An array of  Easter-themed events took place in the town centre with crafting, balloon modelling, face painting  and  egg and spoon races adding to the fun.

There were appearances by larger-than-life walkabout characters including a chef and a giant dancing egg, live music and an Easter egg giveaways.

‘It was fantastic to the see the sun shining and the town was packed with families and shoppers enjoying our Easter event,’ said Town Development Manager Sally Henley

‘I must especially thank the team at  The Community  Shed for creating the  fantastic Easter tintamarresques (the wooden stands you  stick your head in a hole and there’s a funny print on the other side) which were a real hit with both children  and adults.

‘Youngsters enjoyed the and crafting with Creative Newton Abbot,  and the live music from the ever-popular Hot House Combo went down really well.’
