NEWTON Abbot Police Station has just ‘unveiled’ its ‘newest recruit’ to their crime fighting team – Elvis the miniature Dachshund.

In a brilliant post on their Facebook page the town’s police force says: ‘Today we are excited to be announcing the launch our newest recruit who will be out on patrol with our dog handlers from today. ‘Newton Abbot will have a specially trained miniature Dachshund named Elvis who has just come out of training as a qualified police dog.‘He is perfect for fitting through cat flaps when we cannot get access to a property, due to his small size he can also sniff out illegal items hidden underneath cupboards and sofas too.‘He’s coming out of the cage, he’s been doing just fine because he wants a bone.’About Elvis:Fav Food: Roast ChickenFav Film: Secret Life of Pets
