A CAR fire on the A381 heading toward Newton Abbot saw firefighters mobilised on Monday, July 7.
The town’s crew, joined by their colleagues from Torquay Fire Station, were called at around 5pm.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed that the vehicle was ‘fully involved’ in fire.
A spokesperson for Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera and also used one hose reel jet to dampen down dry vegetation surrounding the area.
‘The engine bay was 100 per cent damaged by fire’.
