THIS weekend Moretonhampstead is celebrating the National Garden Scheme and is opening up two four-acre gardens for the public to visit.

Sutton Mead and Mardon are two large gardens, each of four acres, and by visiting you are helping to support the scheme.

So far this year the project has donated £500,000 to Marie Curie, £500,000 to Macmillan and £500,000 to Hospice UK.

There is a plant sale, home-made teas and croquet games.

To get to the venues, head to Moretonhampstead then follow the big yellow signposts.

The gardens feature colourful flowers and makes for a lovely walk as its paths wander through bluebell woodlands.

There are a lot of moorland walks nearby, so dogs are welcome if they are kept on leads.
