LOCAL quartet,  The Estuary Band, will be entertaining crowds with their acoustic pop, rock and folk material at a couple of gigs over the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend.

At 8pm on Saturday, August 27 they will be one of 11 acts performing at the annual SandyG8 music festival held at The Sandygate Inn , Kingsteignton.

On Sunday, August 28, the band makes a welcome return to The Shipwright’s Arms, Shaldon, appearing at 2pm.

The Estuary Band are a four piece group based in Teignbridge.

The band consists of vocalist Jules Jones, Colin Shorthouse on vocals and guitar, Phil Swann on guitar, mandolin and backing vocals and Martyn Hillstead on percussion and backing vocals.

Martyn said: ‘We have played at The Shipwright’s Arms about a month or so ago, we played a charity gig there – we have played there amny times over the years.

We play quite a wide range of material: classic; 70s, 80s stuff but acoustically.

‘Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Eagles but acoustic versions of classic pop and rock songs and the occasional folky tune as well.
