A kaleidoscope of colour graced The Strand Centre in Dawlish last weekend courtesy of Dawlish Garden Society.

The society were holding their annual summer show at the venue and with a bumper selection of exhibits on display visitors were kept entertained  viewing - and judges were kept busy making the tricky decisions.

‘As always the standard was very, very good,’  said flower judge Ian Hallett as he was tasked with the tricky choice of awarding coveted first, second and third prizes.

As well as the flower, fruit and vegetable competitions there were also prizes up for grabs in sections for photography, baking and craftwork.

Meanwhile, outside the centre, the society’s plant stall did a roaring trade selling a selection of plants grown by local green-fingered experts
