TEIGNMOUTH councillors are concerned that the tourist information service could be downgraded when the seafront office is closed and the facility switched to the adjoining Pavilions.

The staff are being re-located, and leaflets and other printed information will be available at the new venue.

The chairman of the finance and general purposes committee, Cllr Geoff Bladon, told a meeting on Tuesday that the original concept of just having a ‘stand with some papers is not good enough; we need people who know what they are talking about’.
