WHAT a difference a dose of sunshine makes.

Teignmouth traders are smiling again as the crowds flock to the seaside in the heatwave.

Tills are ringing, and everybody is hoping it will last.

'I have seen a lot of smiling faces around the town. The feelgood factor is back, and that encourages people to spend,' declared a delighted Mike Jackman, chairman of the Teignmouth Traders' Association.

'This is the best summer weather we have had for nearly ten years, and it could save a lot of businesses that were on the verge of going under.

'Shops are opening later, and the queues of cars coming into Teignmouth are a welcome sight for us.
