A CHRISTMAS fair raised more than £600 for Bovey Tracey Methodist Church.

The popular event, held in the church hall, was well supported by the community, raising £643 for the church.

Treasurer Richard Firrell said: ‘It was very busy and well supported by lots of people.’

Representative of the Lord of the Manor of Bovey Tracey Dorreen Black (pictured right with Richard) was invited to officially open the fair.

Visitors enjoyed a host of stalls including bric-a-brac, flowers, books and CDs, cakes and puzzles.

Invited guests included individuals who have supported the church’s £38,000 refurbishment project to improve the kitchen, toilets and install new windows and repair the roof.
