A TEAM of firefighters from Devon have today, Wednesday, May 28, completed their 1,200 mile charity bike ride to Benidorm.
The crew from Chagford Fire Station rolled into the Spanish town at around 2.30pm, marking the end of their fundraising ride that saw the crew of Station 23 raise more than £6,000 for The Firefighters Charity.
The charity specialises in providing both physical and mental support for firefighters and their families.
Dubbed ‘Benidorm or Bust’, the crew, whose ages range from 21 to 58-years-old, cycled from Chagford to Benidorm while wearing full service kit, with no expert training or expensive bikes.
The crew left for Benidorm on May 25.
‘Thank you all so much for your donations and kind words during this challenge, it’s been a blast and again thank you you’ve made it all worth it with raising in excess of £6000’ the crew said via its Benidorm or Bust page on Facebook, which was set up as a way for people to follow the crew’s journey.
And while the challenge may be over, the crew are still fundraising.
