A VEHICLE on fire in a field in Modbury saw the great and the good from Buckfastleigh Fire Station mobilised this morning, Thursday, June 22.

The crew were joined by colleagues from Plympton and Ivybridge.

Two fire engines, as well as a water foam carrier, were in attendance at the incident.

A post ramming vehicle was well alight upon arrival, and the fire had spread to around five metres of surrounding hedgerow.

Crews deployed a hose reel jet, one thermal imaging camera and small tools to tackle the blaze.
