A FIREFIGHTER has retired after more than two decades of dedicated service to a Dartmoor community.
On 24 June, Firefighter Paul Bartlett removed the battery from his pager for the final time, bringing to a close 22 years of service at Chagford Fire Station.
Colleagues gathered on drill night to mark the occasion, sharing memories of incidents attended together and celebrating Paul's commitment to the local community.
A spokesperson for Chagford Fire Station said: ‘From the station management team here at Chagford, we’d like to thank Paul for his dedication to protecting his local community over the last 22 years.
‘You will be greatly missed’.
Paul's retirement marks the end of an era for the station and its crew.
