FIVE youths have been excluded from the multi-storey car park area of Newton Abbot while local police have played down rumours of mass vandalism last night, Saturday.
On their Facebook page Newton Abbot police were quick to jump on social media claims that up to 20 youths were ‘smashing up cars’ last night.
They said: ‘Evening Newton Abbot,
‘Don't believe everything you read online, this post from Spotted included....
‘There were no cars being smashed up. Some damage was caused to the multi-story carpark by a couple of youths which is now being investigated, no one was slumped in the bus stop either.
‘A dispersal notice has now been authorised in the town centre and five youths have been excluded from the area already for 48 hours.
‘Enjoy your weekend.’
