A FIREFIGHTER with Buckfastleigh Fire Station has passed his emergency response driving course.

After two weeks of intensive training, firefighter Buster Lane is now certified to drive the fire-engine to incidents a high-speed.

Buster has already racked up more than 250 hours behind the wheel of Buckfastleigh’s appliance driving at normal speed, but having passed the level three qualification he can now do so with the blues and twos on.

‘Congratulations to our very own Buster Lane’ a spokesman for Buckfastleigh Fire Station said.

‘Buster is now able to drive the appliance to incidents and in doing so makes the station more resilient and able to keep turning out the door.

‘Well done Buster, top stuff!’ the spokesman added.
