BUCKFASTLEIGH and Kennford are among the locations to benefit from government cash funding to help with the threat of flooding.
The two communities were particularly badly hit during flooding in November last year and Prime Minister David Cameron saw the damage in Buckfastleigh for himself during a surprise whistlestop tour of the town.
Now a partnership of local authorities and the Environment Agency is to receive £488,000 from the new Flood Resilience Community Pathfinder scheme, launched in December by Defra.
