UKRAINIAN folk songs will be the highlight of a fund-raising event being held in Cockwood.

The afternoon at Cockwood Village Hall will feature Ukrainian folk singing by Elena Chertok.

Raising money for Ukraine’s adults and children, the event has been organised by Cliff and Chris Curd with Ukrainian friends in the Cockwood community.

It takes place on Saturday November 8 between 2pm to 5pm.

As well as coffee and tea, there will be Ukrainian baking on offer alongside traditional British cakes and snacks.

Christmas decorations, original Ukrainian craft items, stocking fillers and gifts will be on sale too.

Proceeds will be divided between CR2EE based in Starcross and Exmouth and Save Ukraine which works with traumatised children and rescues children from occupied territories.
