A FOOD bank opened in Ashburton this week to help those in need in the town and the surrounding moorland villages. Another is being launched in Buckfastleigh on Tuesday.

In Ashburton, the food bank is operating from St Petrock's Cottage, Eastern Road, opposite the Ashburton Surgery, and has been set up by Churches Together in Ashburton, town mayor Cllr Elaine Baker and other local groups.
