FOOTFALL at libraries across Teignbridge has been revealed by a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.
Between April 2024 and March 2025, Newton Abbot library recorded footfall of 155,598, the FOI request shows.
It was the highest recorded footfall among Teignbridge’s 11 libraries.
The figures at Teignbridge’s other libraries throughout the same period were as follows:
• Dawlish - 39,668
• Teignmouth - 36,690
• Bovey Tracey - 35,977
• Kingsteignton - 14,974
• Ashburton - 12,259
• Buckfastleigh - 9,312
• Chudleigh - 7,622
• Chagford - 6,006
• Kingskerswell - 5,262
• Moretonhampstead - 2,066
The FOI also revealed the number of active members registered to each library.
As of March 31, 2025, the number of members registered at Newton Abbot Library was 5,784.
Again, this was the highest among the 11 libraries in Teignbridge.

• Bovey Tracey - 1,841
• Buckfastleigh - 544
• Chagford - 354
• Chudleigh - 879
• Dawlish - 2,126
• Kingskerswell - 438
