THE fickle summer weather has done nothing to daunt gardeners in Kingskerswell, which has just enjoyed one of its most successful garden society annual autumn shows yet.The event attracted 390 entries from 89 exhibitors. Particularly pleasing for organisers was the number of youngsters taking part, with the local Brownie group supporting the junior section virtually single-handed. For the first time in years the teenager class made a return, with entries from the local guides group and other young people.Best in show was won by Ron Doidge, who walked away with an impressive nine trophies, including the Len Matthews Memorial Cup and blue ribbon for best in show.
