JANET McCagh joined great neice Faith Mitchell-Kerry, a TS Canonteign Sea Cadet, to lay a cross on the grave of her uncle Norman Barr at the Decoration Day Remembrance Service in Newton Abbot's Wolborough Cemetery on Sunday.

Faith's great aunt lives in Australia and is spending a couple of months in Newton Abbot with her brother Francis Toulcher, the Newton Abbot Royal British Legion poppy appeal organiser, and her sister Hilary Mitchell, the RBL's publicity officer.

A Royal Marine, Mr Barr served throughout the second world war but lost his life shortly after in an accident.
