ANOTHER top national event is coming to Teignmouth.

Powerboats will be racing off the seafront at speeds of more than 60mph on the weekend of May 28 and 29.

The resort has been chosen for one of the venues of the extreme watersport of Thundercat racing, and huge crowds are expected to watch the thrills and spills from the promenade.

The four-metre inflatables are a dramatic spectacle as they often become airborne on the waves, and creating g-forces of up to six, which is a severe strain on the crew of two.<
